What To Do If Child Has Swollen Red Gums And Ulcer On Tongue?

hi my 22 month old little boy has had really swollen red gums the past few days - he has now gone off his food - he is drinking plenty milk and water though - he also has a wee ulcer on his tongue - he doesn't seem to have a fever and is still quite well in himself - i tried to give him some nurofen on saturday via syringe as he spat it out from a spoon but it proved quite difficult and he end up getting quite distressed and choked slightly - i feel really guily thinking i have put him off his food -

Thanks for using health care magic.

Went through your query.

As for the swollen gums and ulcers u can apply Mucogel/ dentogel on the affected areas.Keep him hydrated well with water ,juices and avoid spicy food.

If not reduced consult a pedodontist for a complete checkup of his mouth.

hope this was helpful.

Thanks and regards.
