What To Do For The Severe Pain In The Feet Due To Diabetic Neuropathy?

Hi ,I am 41yrs, male, diagnosed with Diabetes since 4yrs .I was on glycomet GP 2 taking twice a day.My sugar was not controlled with drugs and as a result I was admitted in hospital(2mnths back) for the same.My sugar levels were 380mg during the time of admission.Also, I was diagnosed as diabetic neuropathy. The pain in my feet is severe and associated with numbness & hypersensitivity.My physician has now started me inj novamix 30U 12hourly,tab jalra 50mg BiD,TAB ZORYL M2 bId .Will this control my sugar levels and reduce the severity of symptoms due to neuropathy.For neuropathy I am on Tegretal CR 400MGbid,Gabapin(300mg) bid,Tryptomer(400mg) at night,DULOXETENE(30mg).Kindly opine.

Welcome...

The medications for neuropathy are slow acting. They take atleast 2 weeks to show some effect.

So since how long are you on neuropathy medications. If you are on these medications for more than a month and if there is still pain then you can increase gabapentin 300mg to 3 times a day . Watch for 2 weeks and revert back.

Also make sure that your blood sugars are monitored frequently and in control
