What Is The Two Inch Dark Spot On Forearm Which Turns Red?
I have roughly a two inch darker spot on my forearm that just came up out of no where, I originally thought it was dirt or something, it has now been there for around 2 weeks with no change, it doesn't hurt or itch or anything. The other day it turned a little more red when I was outside but that went away.
I would suspect a possibility of Light Eruption(PMLE) since it has happened on the forearm, which is usually exposed to sunlight.
I normally ask my patients with PMLE to wear full sleeved clothing OR protect all the exposed body parts with regular daily use of a broad spectrum sunscreen.
A moderately potent steroid cream containing either mometasone or clobetasol can be applied over the patch once daily at night for a few days.
I would advice that you see a dermatologist for a confirmatory diagnosis.
take care regards
