What Is The Treatment Of Cyst On Ovaries ?

my sister has cyst on her ovaries n doctor has prescribed femilon tabs. em very sceptic about giving it to her as she is only 15yrs old . besides that she also has kidney stones and urinary infection. she has painful urination and is enduring it from the time she was 13. plz help

Hi,

According to your description I am assuming that your sister might having single cyst in any one of the ovaries. In case of small size cyst with less than 5 centimeter size and simple cyst with clear fluid containing, combined hormonal pills can be given to reduce the size of the cyst.

If the cyst becomes larger in size, that may require surgery sometimes and complications like torsion, rupture, etc. can occur. Using combined hormonal pills for a few months may not affect the general status of your sister. Usually this tablets may not interfere with the drugs used for urinary tract infection. So better to follow the suggestion of your doctor.
