What Is The Treatment For Stuffy Nose And Vertigo?

Just got off antibiotics last week. It did not clear this up. Have a stuffy head, drainage, stuffy nose, popping ears, vertigo. Still nursing my son. Benedry doesn't touch it. Sudafed makes it drain but no help. Mucinex doesn't touch it. At about 6 weeks of dealing with this.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query stuffy nose and vertigo can occur due to many reasons like middle ear infection , some kind of growth in middle ear , sinusitis , Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) , side effects of certain medicine or fluid in middle ear ( Meniere's disease ) . You should not ignore this , because sometimes the condition get complicated as infection can spread to surrounding or body can loss its balance . i would suggest you to start with antibiotics, steroids and labyrinthine sedatives for 5 to 7 weeks. you should go for vestibular rehabilitation therapy. You should consult with your ENT specialist and get evaluated. Doctor may order audiometry test and tuning fork test and treat it accordingly. Avoid touching and pricking it with any sharp object avoid bending forward , drink green tea and take steam several times a day .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
