What Is The Treatment For Diarrhea And Constipation During Pregnancyk

I m 38 weeks pregnant and have been having a horrible upset stomach, diarrhea, constipation it s like everytime I eat something I have to run to the bathroom. I ve been having bad menstrual like pains. What could this mean? Is this an early sign of labor? Or could I have a stomach virus? I m just miserable haha or is this normal?!

Hi,

I really appreciate your concern, if it is the 38 weeks pregnancy then what the symptoms you have could be associated with labor pain and it is better to rule this out and it must not be taken as granted if this due to labor pang then it is normal one means part of the pregnancy. Now for the diarrhea although it may not be due to labor but not even due to any disease nor the constipation, no need to over conscious, it is better to see the obstetrician.

Hope this information helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain Shaikh
