What Is The Treatment For Dandruff?

Ok, i've Suffering 'dandruff' for years( may be 7 yrs, I'm 32,) (after shower my hair has flakes, if I don't wash it in 48 hrs it's totally greasy!!!), I have a friend with the same problem (she has health insurance, I don't), she asked her doctor how to treat it n doctor said 'i don't c flakes'.I tried many shampoos, home remedies...and a couple weeks ago got worse, I have many flakes (big ones) too visible :(, I just started using new clean and clear scalp shampoo for dandruff, the only difference it's that my hair it's smoother (in comparison w other dandruff shampoos), but no results :(

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from Seborrheic Dermatitis commonly known as Dandruff and common causes for it can be fungal infection, genes, change in weather, poor hygiene conditions, poor immunity etc..
I would suggest you to consult a Trichologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and microscopic examination of the flakes can help in diagnosis and treated accordingly..
You can be advised to apply shampoo containing Ketoconazole, coal tar, salicylic acid, zinc, selenium, sulfides etc..
You can also be advised to massage the scalp with steroid lotion..
You should also keep the scalp clean and avoid moisture accumulation to prevent infection..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
