What Is The Timeline For Cure For Wrist Drop Syndrome?

Hi i suffered a very bad fall and woke up with a 2 inch black bruise on the back of my right tricep. when i woke up the other day my hand was dead but i knew it wasnt fracture since i could move it without pain. went to the er to check because what was going on the did a xray no broken bones but said it was wrist drop symdrome. How long will these take to heal?

Hi,

Wrist drop is due to injury or weakness of one of the major nerves in the hand.

The prognosis will depend on the severity of the nerve injury. In most of the cases, there won’t be any full thickness cut and there is only neuropraxia (weakness). And generally the symptoms will improve in three to four weeks.
Consult an orthopaedic and plan for MRI scan.
Steroids are the mainstay of the treatment.
