ENT Specialist 's  Response
hello and welcome to health care magic,

The most common cause of blood in sputum in a setting of infection is a reflux or gastritis which is just a mucosal bleed.

This is usually self limiting and all you need to do is control your infection as well as take an antireflux medication like pantoprazole.

If the bleeding persists then you must take an Upper GI endoscopy and complete coagulation profile and get back to me or any ENT with the reports

regards

Dr Sriram Nathan
