Hi,

According to your history the points that can help you are:
- Usually 4 mm endometrial thickness can be considered as normal in the menopausal age group. So, please discuss with your doctor whether D&C for endometrial biopsy is needed or not.
- If D&C has to be done, the methods that can help for Cervical dilatation are:
*Doing procedure under can help in relaxation of the muscles.
*Using vaginal misoprostol sometimes can help.
* Using cervical dilators

But the exact procedure should be decided by the treating doctor who will be well aware of the physical condition of the patient. So please discuss these things with your doctor and let her decide.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sree Gouri S. R., OBGYN
