Infectious Diseases Specialist 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to HCM,

The chickenpox is a viral disease which is transmitted from patient to others by droplet infection and droplet nuclei. It is highly infectious and it is transmitted to others easily.

The chickenpox is highly communicable 2-3 days before the appearance of rash to 4-6 days after the appearance of rash. The symptoms starts with prodromal symptoms like fever, malaise and headache which is followed by pleomorphic rashes.

The fever is the protective mechanism of the body which helps to regulate the body temperature. This is a self limiting disease which will wane off by 10 -15 days.

The scabbing of rashes will starts 7-10 days and it will be completed by maximum of 30 days. The rashes will disappear without leaving any scars.
Thank you.
