General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear,

The symptoms mentioned in your post suggests that your daughter might be having Upper Respiratory tract infection.
There is a connecting tract (known as Eustachian tube) between the nasopharynx & middle ear which helps in equalization o pressure between them.
Any obstruction to this Eustachian tube, secondary to an upper respiratory tract infection, cold & congestion, can lead to ear pain.
Examination of the throat using a laryngoscope will be helpful in clinching the diagnosis.

Management consists of:
1. Drinking of warm fluids.
2. Analgesics like paracetamol.
3. Antibiotics depending upon culture & sensitivity reports to remove the causative organism.
4. Antihistamine preparations can also be used to provide symptomatic relief.
If symptoms still persist...it will be better to consult a Pediatrician/ ENT specialist.
Meanwhile...make sure that she avoids cold food & drinks, maintain adequate hydration & take soft, non-spicy foods.

There is no need to worry, your daughter will be fine.
Wishing her a Good Health.
Take care.
