What Is The Relation Between Serotonin Syndrome And Heart Rate?
i have been diagnosed with serotonin syndrome...have taken cymbalta and found out I do to have the enzyme 2d6 which is the only enzyme that breaks down cymbalta. I have a range of symptoms...most overwhelming being the fluctuating bp and heart rate. I have been told bed rest mild sedation and lots of liquids the only treatment.
It is true that stopping Cymbalta is the best way to treat this syndrome. Your symptoms are related to serotonin syndrome, and taking a lot of water will help get Cymbalta out of your body sooner.
Symptomatic treatment for diarrhea or palpitations may be needed too. If your blood pressure values are high, anti-hypertensive therapy may be needed.
I agree with your doctor on the recommendation of bed rest too.
Hope to have been helpful! I remain at your disposal for any further questions whenever you need!
Wishing good health.
