What Is The Reason Of Blood Clots In Vomiting After A Flu?

Yes,My mom was busy doing some errands yesterday afternoon and all of a sudden she had a couple of blood clots the size of a dime in he mouth along with bright red blood. She has just gotten over the flu which has gone through the house. The others in the house ended up throwing up from the flu but she didn't and really felt like she could have but didn't. This was a few weeks ago and has felt "off" ever since. She does have a history of acid reflux which has been pretty bad at times, and not sure if it could be related but she also has colitis. She did say there isn't any blood in her stool or urine which I think is good right? She is 64 and I think pretty worried. She did go to the emergency last Ning and they checked her vitals and said she seemed ok but to get it all checked out more throughly come Monday which is tomorrow. Any thoughts? She says today that there is no sign of blood today??? So strange. She says it didn't feel like it came from her sinus which is what I asked her. Thanks
