What Is The Reason For Swollen Throat And Gland In A Person With No Tonsils?

My throat is swollen. And my glands feel swollen. I went to the er and they told my they think its my tonsils. But i had them removed when i was 5. They put me pn antibiotics and a steroid. Its been 5 days now i feel worse and its swollen more than before

hello. the glands in your neck can swell up due to an infection in ANY part of your oral cavity. removing tonsils does not guarantee that you will not develop sore throat, as the infection can still be there in the other regions of the throat. dont worry, meet you ENT doctor, let him examine you and start you on appropriate antibiotics. thanks
