What Is The Possibility Of Pregnancy With Closed Cervix?

Hello,
I just had an iui but dr said my cervix was closed. She still inserted the sperm as high as she could and put in place this plastic tampon look a like thing, to be removed 4 hours later. With the cervix being close can I still have possibility of becoming pregnant?

hello and welcome,

If the cervix was closed the IUI is very helpful as cervical dysfunction is an important indication for an IUI procedure. The IUI has deposited the sperms beyond the cervix and so if normally they were not able to ascend beyond the cervix, now this factor will be overcome.

Also I suggest that since the IUI has been done today, it is ovulatory period. After the cervical plug is removed, try to have intercourse to increase the chances of pregnancy.
