What Could The Side Effects Of Cabergoline Tablets Be?

i had my embryo transfer on 16th June. on hysteroscopy TBPCR was positive , so I was put on anti-tuberculous medicine from 19th May. Also, my prolactin level was 22.77 (range: 3.6-16.3) for which I was given tablet Cabgolin0.25mg once a weekly. Is there any risk of either of those medicines on my on going implantation. Is there any side effect ? we will be grateful if can reply us at the earliest possible.

Hi,

I think you are asking about cabergoline. Cabergoline is a medication primarily used to treat conditions such as hyperprolactinemia (elevated levels of prolactin hormone) and certain pituitary tumors. It is not recommended to use cabergoline during pregnancy unless specifically prescribed by a healthcare professional for a compelling medical reason.

The safety of cabergoline during pregnancy is still under investigation, and there are concerns about potential risks to the developing fetus however such a low dose would cause no harm on implantation potentially.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammad Umer Farooq, General & Family Physician
