General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear,
Acute onset of difficulty in urination and lethargy points towards urinary tract infection.Urinary tract infection can sometimes cause rectal irritation and alteration in bowel habits also.
It can be usually treated with antibiotics like cefixime/ciprofloxacin,and other supportive measures. But since she is having multiple medical disorders,it is better to have baseline evaluation of blood pressure, urine routine examination, thyroid status etc before commencing treatment.
Wishing her a faster cure.Thank you.
