What Is The Cause Of Weakness In Limbs?

I am experiencing left foot pain (six months), weakness in limbs when having mild exertion, left arm does not swing, some back pain etc. two MRIs (brain and spine) clear. Not sure what I need to be asking docs when I see them and what the possible causes are.

Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms could be related to different causes:

- neuropathy
- motor neuron disease
- vitamin B12 deficiency.

Your performed MRI have excluded many other causes (like a tumor, stroke, or myelopathy).

Coming to this point, I would recommend performing some other tests:

- a nerve conduction study and electromyography
- vitamin B12 levels, and complete blood count.

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards, Dr. Aida
