What Is The Bruise On The Upper Left Rib Cage?

My boyfriend has an oval shaped bruise on the left, upper of his rib cage. He's had it for over two years! it hasn't changed shape or colour and isn't painful but it's worrying as we don't know why it appeared and it doesn't seem to have any intention of leaving!

It appears to be a lymph gland due to an old infection. Other wise it may be a lipoma.
I advise you to consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment.
I usually prescribe, to my patient with such symptoms cifixime, diclofenac, serratiopeptidase, and ascorbic acid.
