What Is The Best Medicine For Constipation?

hello doctor! my daughter is having constipation since her birth. we have given her a no. of treatments: homeopathic and naturopathic, but unfortunately they didn't worked for long. She is now 2.5 yrs. old. From past 4 months we have started the looz syrup and laxopeg sachet (daily). Though there is improvment, but still she doesn't pass the stools regularly. Can you suggest any changes?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The most common reason in children is functional constipation. Apart from pediatrician suggested a laxative, I feel to
- Increase her liquids intake.
- A diet with high fiber, organic fresh fruits, whole grains, cereals, pulses,
legumes.
- Check that she chews her food thoroughly.
- Activity level monitor.
- Regular exercises will help greatly in intestine movements.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
