What Does This X-ray Test Result Indicate?
Hi , My mother is having cough from 2 weeks and the doctor advised for an chest x-ray . Below is the findings from the x-ray : 1)Bony Thorax appears Normal 2)trachea is normally oriented 3)cardia and Aorta appear nomal 4)Calcified atheromatous plaques are seen to the walls of the avortic knuckle. 5)Hila appear lobularly prominent - Lymphadenopathy 6) Accentuated bronchovascular markings are noted bilaterally 7) both CP angles appear clear 8) The Diaphragmatic bomes appear normal Could you please advice what may be the problem ..

1. Calcified atheromatous plaque are seen with in the walls of aortic knuckle - which is seen as a age related changes in the vessels ( mainly hypertensive patient) Its normal and non acute process.
2.Lymphadenopathy - hilar prominence is seen in case of presence of any infection and inflammation / systemic disease.
3.Increased bronco-vascular marking also seen in the ineffective cases.
4.REst all findings in the x-ray appears normal.
5.As such there is no acute process seen in the present x-ray other than age related changes and systemic causes causing lymph adenopathy.
So first need to plan to treat underlying medical conditions.
