i went in for a cold and the doctor felt a "lump" on my neck (which has been there for a a least a year; former doctor said it was nothing and did not investigate); ENT siad, maybe the hyoid bone, reactive lymph node, etc. i am having an ultra sound and possible FNA done next week. looking online (bad idea i know!) lymphoma keeps coming up. i had a ct scan done about 9 months ago due to ovarian cysts. on the scan however it says "mutiple lesions on spleen (a dozen or so), most likey cysts. spleen of normal size." it also says "scattered subcentimeter mesenteric and retroperitoneal lymph nodes." my question is are these findings normal? when i got the results of the CT scan i found this information odd, yet no one discussed then with me, so i assumed it was nothing to worry about. my question is: with the mention of the lymph nodes does this mean they are enlarged but not larger than a centimeter, or just that they "saw them there; they were present?" and what about the dozen cysts on spleen? is this normal? when i type either of these in, lymphoma comes up again. now, i know i have to wait for my imaging appointment for conclusive answers, but at this point i would like to know whether these are "normal" presentations or finding in an abdominal CT scan. thanks.
