What Does The MRI Regarding The Cyst Indicate?

hi,my MRI showed: 1.mild synovial effusion. 2.grade 3 tear of the posterior horn of the medial meniscus. 3.severe partial tear of ACL. 4.a small popliteal cyst. 5.mild secondary osteoarthritis. what does each impression mean and how can each of them be treated??does it need surgeory?? i hope i can get a respond as soon as possible.. thanks.

Hi,
Thanks for choosing healthcaremagic.
1. Synovial effusion is due to the injury to meniscus and ligaments. It indicates fluid in joint cavity.
2. Torn of medial meniscus due to injury. It is grade 3 which is severe grade so it needs surgical repair.
3. Severe partial tear of ACL. will need repair as its a severe tear. Mild tears can be left aside and heal on its own.
4. Small popliteal cyst is of no clinical significance.
5. Mild secondary osteoarthritis is age related changes. Nothing can be done about it at this stage. Don't worry about it as it will not affect you. If it becomes severe in later stages you might need correction for it.
