What Does "nonspecific T-abnormality And Abnormal P Axis" Suggest On ECG?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...I've been having palpitations & fluttering in my heart. Went to my PCM yesterday & my EKG showed Diffuse nonspecific T-abnormality, QT/QTc 244/312 and Abnormal P Axis, 49. My PCM said it's basically normal, is that correct?

Hi Jennifer

As per the ECG details you have mentioned, Non specific T wave inversion in female population is not uncommon and they can be non specific, normal P wave axis lies between 0 to +75 so in your case its not abnormal but totallt normal, now coming to your Corrected QT (QTc) for females normal range is 350-460 ms which in your case is falling short.

Causes of a short QTc (
Hypercalcaemia
Congenital short QT syndrome
Digoxin effect

So i would like to advise a SERUM CALCIUM please get it checked as it is a treatable cause and can be corrected.

Good Luck
