What Does Pustuals On Skin Which Bleed Indicate?

I don't even know how to explain this, I've been seeing my Internal Medicine doctor for about three months now for a skin condition which she has no idea of what it is, first she said it was Rosacia then Schingles, then Dermatitis, shes had me on lots of antibiotics for long period of time and a cream . Still these pustuals keep coming back. I went to the Emergency room once because they hurt so badly and the emergency room doctor said it was "Rosacia with Acne? I'm 51 years old dont know if that happens at my age, I'm really frustrated at this point these things sometimes break and scab over or bleed? HELP?! If you can offer any answer at all its appreciated.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

If i was your treating doctor i would have advised you an oral antibiotic like either Doxycycline OR Azithromycin for the inflammatory eruptions and continue it for at least 4-12 weeks depending on the response along with topical antibacterial gel like Clindamycin gel for inflammatory lesions/pustules.

A gentle cleanser like Cetaphil would be ideal for cleansing of sensitive skin.

Rosacea is a long term condition and with relapses and remissions.

General Measures to be followed in rosacea patients:
-A broad spectrum sunscreen throughout the day
-Avoidance of triggers like hot spicy food, coffee, tea etc
-A topical anti-inflammatory like Metronidazole gel OR Azaleic acid gel helps to decrease the erythema and is also useful for papules and pustules of rosacea.

take care
