With all probabilities it is a type of benign kind of abnormal wound healing (either a hepertrophied scar or a keloid). Hypertrophic scar is self limiting problem, whereas keloid might spread away from the original scar. However, I would advise you to get it examined and confirmed by a general surgeon/dermatologist to be sure and for proper management.
