What Does Black And White Spots In The Ultra Sound Scan Image Of My Liver Indicate?

i just had an ultra sound of my liver for elavated LFT's and I am trying to find ultra sound pictures of different livers. without trying to make a diagnosis i would just like to see if other livers look simular to mine.......black spots, bright whit spots (both of varying sizes) and then a large whute spot that had around one-one 1/2 inches of white 'steaking' coming out of the bottom in straight lines of vareing lengths... thank you. kassie gilmore

Hi there Kassie,

There are a lot of black and white spots on ultrasound. In fact, everything in ultrasound is black and white. There are a lot of black and white spots in the liver, as the bile ducts, veins and arteries will likely show up as black, and the liver itself will have varying intensities of white. I'd recommend you google normal liver ultrasound, or look at videos on you tube, and this can give you a better idea of what a a normal liver ultrasound looks like. If you'd like to send the pictures here, I'm happy to take a look and give my opinion (however this is limited as I won't be able to see the whole ultrasound exam).
