What Does A Lump Above The Belly Button Indicate?
i have been reading about para umbilical hernia after I felt a lump directly above my belly button.I have a little added weight in that region (although I am not overweight by my total weight) so the lump is not visible and does not bulge but can be felt and there is no pain. if I slightly push in on it,it seems like I am pushing something in and it goes away for a while.All signs lead me to this...does this sound correct? I have a physical exam in a couple weeks.

If the mass is soft and movable in the subcutaneous plane then it may lipoma. If aggravated on coughing and reduced after lying down position may be a hernia. It may be a cyst or Sister Mary Joseph nodule etc.
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.
Treatment depends upon the cause so please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
