What Does LDH Levels In The Report Suggest?

Hi, My Brother s ALB is 38.8 (normal 40-55), GLD 41 (normal 20-40). GGT is 61.3 (Normal 10-60), LDH 263.5 (normal 131-255) , HBDH 239 (normal 72-182) , ALB/GLD 0.96 (normal (1.2-2.0) and PLT 114(normal 125-350).Could you please tell me what could couse this happened?

Based on your query and reports am of the following opinion
1. Liver function test is deranged. The parameters related to normal functioning of liver are increased indicated by raised LDH, GGT and transaminases.
2. Raised LDH indicates injury to liver cells possibly infection with inflammation that is hepatitis.
3. LDH is present in almost all the cells of body, so its raise indicates injury to the cell. Since your brother is showing up with a deranged liver function, in this scenario a raised LDH indicates hepatic injury.
4. Albumin is lowered, there is a reversal of AG ratio which means synthetic function of liver is also affected.
5. Decreased platelet count indicates he is prone for bleeding.
