Hi there,
Sounds like she had a lot of gallstones. As a
general surgeon, I take out hundreds of gallbladders per year, and white bile simply means that the cystic duct (the connection between the gallbladder and the main bile duct) was completely obstructed by the stones. The medical term is known as a hydrobic gallbladder, and it's not usually significant for anything else than that the gallbladder was completely obstructed. The number of stones usually doesn't mean much. Some people have a couple of stones, and some people have a lot. With a lot of stones, it simply means she was likely having a lot of pain and it was good that her gallbladder removed.
Finally the red spots on her face may be due to an
allergic reaction to something - usually either antibiotics (sometimes people have penicillin allergies) or to the pain medications. Again, I wouldn't worry too much about this. She should try some
benadryl which she can get over the counter and see if this helps.
I'd recommend she walk as much as she can after surgery, and she should make sure to follow up with the surgeon who took out her gallbladder to make sure that the pathology wasn't anything else to worry about. I think your friend will feel a lot better after she recovers now that her gallbladder that was chock full of stones has been removed.
I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.
