What Could Pain During Day With No Help From Nexium Indicate?

Hi
I take nexium 20mg but did no good now on nexium 40 mg still get the pain but only in the afternoon as soon as I have Dinner at night it goes away .So why do I still get the pain and it stops at night time .
It is not easy to get a doctor now day so would like your thoughts on this.

Hi and welcome to HCM. Nexium (esomeprazole) belongs to a group of drugs called proton pump inhibitors. Nexium is used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions involving excessive stomach acid. Nexium is usually given for 4 to 8 weeks only. Nexium should be taken at least one hour before a meal. I think the pain which u are telling is stomach pain due to gastritis. I suggest you to take Nexpro RD 40 mg (and stop tab nexium) once daily in after noon before meals and take meals at same time everyday. Avoid spicy foods. If this not helping u have to consult a local physician for further evaluation and treatment. All the best
