What Could Cause Black Lymph Nodes After Thyroid Removal Due To Cancer?
My husband recently had his thyroid removed due to thyroid cancer. Two lymph nodes nearby were found to be hard and black. He was exposed to a great deal of second hand smoke throughout childhood. We are waiting for the pathology report. What could be causes for the black lymph nodes?
Black lymph nodes in the chest or lower neck are mostly due to prolonged smoke exposure either in the form of active or passive smoking or environmental pollution. It is generally not a cause for worry. The biopsy report will confirm this and also rule out the presence of any tumor within.
