What Could Be The Side Effects Of Escitalopram And Flecainide 50mg If Taken Together?

Hi I have been prescribed escitalopram today for my GAD and OCD, I am on flecainide 50mg x2 daily for paroxysmal atrial fibrillation and AVNRT - I've read that I shouldn't take the 2 meds together? How dangerous is it? And what kind of effects should I expect?

Hello.Escitalopram intake is related to prolongation of QT interval on the electrocardiogram and this can cause arrhythmias. In a person with a history of arrhythmias,Escitalopram is not the most appropriate antidepressant. Your physician should consider substitute Escitalopram by other antidepressant for example Paroxetine.
I wish you good health.
