What Could Be The Reason For Experiencing Shortness Of Breath And Chest Tightness?

I have been experiencing shortness of breath and chest tightness on exertion or during times of stress. My Echo cardiogram showed mild left ventricular dysfunction and slightly enlarged left atrium. I also have had long standing highBP kept under control for the most part with medications ,

could this be the cause of my symptoms?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, high blood pressure, left ventricular dysfunction, enlarged left atrium etc can be the cause for your symptoms.
All these are suggestive of early heart failure.
This causes pulmonary edema and this is the cause for chest tightness and breathlessness.
So strict blood pressure control is needed in your case.
Along with this, diuretics and other cardiac supportive drugs are needed .
So better to consult cardiologist and discuss all these.
Don't worry, you will be alright with these treatment.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
