What Causes Yellow Fluid Discharge In The Stool?

my 3 1/5 year old daughter had a odourless yellow fluid out of her rectum just prior to here stool passing, she has had a bit of diarrhoea this week and we have in the past week just got a new puppy. She is eating ok and drinking ok and is in no pain as far as I know, is this just part of the gut virus she has had?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Sometimes, it takes few more days for bowel habits to get back to our normal state after an episode of diarrhea. If there is no fever, grossly watery stools, no blood in stool and defecation is painless, nothing to worry. it will just go off in few days. Its unlikely related to your new puppy.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK, Pediatrician
