What Causes Vomiting And Stomach Pain In A Child?

My 7-year-old daughter has been vomitting episodes in the middle of the night where she will wake up with horrible stomach pain, throw up very thick vomit, and then be fine. It has happened about once a month for the past 4 months. She is on medication for reflux and has been since she was a baby. She complains of stomach pain frequently (at least twice a week.) Should I have her referred to a gastroenteralogist?
