What Causes Tenderness Under The Armpit?

Hello, I have been feeling tenderness under my right armpit. A vein seem to be noticeably visible and pain occurs when I stretch my arm upward. I had this for about 2 weeks and I am physically active. I lift weights as my exercise. However, I had a biopsy for my right axilluary lymph node 3 months ago and results came out benign and that it was just fat tissue. Could my lymph node be infected or perhaps it could be my physical activity? Thank you

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
You have a swollen lymph gland of the arm pit. The most common cause for an enlarged, tender lymph node is infection in the vicinity or area of its lymphatic drainage.
A complete examination of the area for any focus of infection and treatment with antibiotics when one is found is advisable. If there is no detectable infection, it can be monitored after a course of treatment with antibiotics for changes in its size. You may want to consult your doctor again for an examination. Thank you.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
