What Causes Swollen Feet In A Diabetic After Taking Ciproxin?

Hi ! My mothr in law is 71yrs and she is a diabetic patient for past 11 yrars. she is taking daonil 3 tablets , 1500mg neodipar daily along with this aspirin,co-eziday for blood pressure and limitriol for cholestrol. recently she developed urine infection so doc gave her ciproxcin for 5 days. last night her feets ot swollen all a sudden. what can be the reason ?

Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Swollen feet is not due to diabetes and also not due to ciprofloxacin.
2. It is due to effect of blood pressure on heart and occurs occasionally in patients with hypertension.
3. Limb elevation in lying down position above cardiac level with 2-3 pillow below legs overnight should reduce swelling. If necessary diuretics can also be taken for limb edema. Avoid in night to get peaceful sleep.
