What Causes Sudden Weakness In An Infant?

Hi, I have a 3 week old baby who has suddenly shown a lack of energy. He tried to breast feed but appears to lack the strength to do it properly, causing me to switch to bottle feeding. Is this serious? My doctor gave me an appointment for later today but I m still worried.

Hi Thanks for writing to Healthcare magic.
Any newborn with fever, lathargy, decreased feeding or irritability is better examined by a doctor. Even if it may be a simple cause, we need to rule out any underlying cause.
Thanks.
