What Causes Sore Throat 8 Weeks Postpartum?

Sore throat 8 weeks postpartum
I had a baby 8 weeks ago and I've had a mild sore throat ever since. It was an uncomplicated vaginal delivery. All my labs were normal. 6 week postpartum appointment was swabbed for strep and it was negative. The only changes were starting on Wellbutrin the day I delivered. I do not take any other medications snd never have. I am a little rundown as I went back to work after 6 weeks and I work 12 hour night shifts as a registered nurse. Please help!

Hi,
If the throat swab has been reported negative, it could be an allergic phenomenon aggravated due to general weakness. Since viral infections generally do not manifest with this prolonged clinical picture, such infections are unlikely. Please maintain adequate nutrition, rest and try taking warm saline gargles and switch to drinking luke warm water only. Use of honey and lemon has been shown to be of help with a little turmeric powder added. Please check with a specialist if no relief is found. Hope this helps.
