What Causes Sickness And Tiredness After Abortion?

Hi I had a medical abortion 3 1/2 weeks ago. All my pregnancy symtoms went away. I took a HPT 2 weeks ago that was negative. The last few days the symtoms of sickness and tiredness have come back. I have taken several HPT and they all have cme back with a faint/to strong positive. I had sex a week and a half ago but I was on the pill (however had taken antibitocs the previous week and it was my first time using the pill). Could I have a faint positive left over from the previous pregnancy (depsite having had a negative HPT 2 weeks ago) or do you think I have gotten pregnant again (despite taking the pill)?

Hi,

The positive pregnancy test could mean two things ,either you are pregnant again or you have a condition called the molar pregnancy.

Molar pregnancy is an abnormal pregnancy ,which is detected by high HCG levels .The fact that your negetive HCG turned positive again after a week indicates it could be molar.As you had undergone a mediacl abortion ,the products of the abortion were not examined.Usually ,molar pregnancy can be identified by seeing the products for Pathological examination.

I would advise you to go for a Serum HCG test immediately and an ultrasound scan of pelvis and immediately consult a gynecologist .
