What Causes Repeated Cold And Sore Throat?

Hi,
I am a 24 year old female (weight: 130 lbs, height: 153 cm), and have been getting frequent colds and sore throats over the past year. I have a cold/sore throat at least 15-20 days during the month. They are generally not severe (i.e., no trouble breathing, no pain while swallowing etc.), but they leave me quite fatigued. What could be the possible reasons?

Hi, thank you for posting your query on health care magic.

Allergy might be a reason because of which you are suffering from repeated cold and throat infections.

You might find relief by taking Analgesic (like Ibuprofen), Antacid (like Rantac), Antihistamine (like Cetrizine),Oral Decongestant (like containing Phenylephrine),Nasal Decongestant (like containing Oxymetazoline) ,Vitamin C lozenges and Saline nasal spray.

Keep a note of which factors(like atmosphere, dust, certain foods) trigger your cold and throat complains.Try to avoid those trigger factors.

Do steam inhalation.Do warm Saline gargles.Avoid cold, spicy, oily and very sweet food.Avoid dust, smoke and other pollutants.Drink lots of fluids(Warm).Hot tea with ginger, lemon and honey might help.

If even after following the above measures, your complains are not improving ,then it would be advisable to consult an Otolaryngologist Doctor.
