What Causes Reddened Dry Patches Of Skin On Bottoms Of The Feet?

I have reddened dry patches of skin on bottoms of my feet that at times itches even if the areas are torn open. I understand about the release of histamine etc. I am a BSN RN? My doctor is at a loss for a Dx.... Antifungals, cortisone, and anti- itch creams do not work. I have a Hx of IgM mild suppression, hyper elevated IgE, high neutrophils, elevated eosinophils, and depressed lymphocytes.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The most common cause of red, itchy, dry patches of skin on the feet is a fungal infection commonly called "Athlete's Foot."
The itchy patches are usually found on the bottom of the feet.
I suggest using an antifungal cream for local application such as Clotrimazole cream.
I also recommend to maintain a good hygiene.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
