What Causes Red Spots On The Cheeks Of A 8 Year Old Boy?

My 8 year old boy has developed red raised spots on his cheeks and temple and also a few on his torso, they appear to have a brown head on them and are sore to touch, my daughter has now developed a few on her body as well,, it has been hot weather lately but doesn t look like heat rash

Thank you for query.it may be a folliculitis or impetigo which is usually due to bacteria.So you can use topical antibiotics like fucidin or mupirocin.also you can give analgesics like brufen if pain .If does not subside you can give oral antibiotics after consultation with your doctor.You can get back to me for any clarifications .Dr Bharatesh
