What Causes Recurrent Throat Infection?

Hello Doctor,I am 30 yrs old,weight:56 kgs,height:5 7 .My tonsils were removed when I was 7/8yrs old, since then i get thoart infected very often, especially when i eat outside food, sauses etc.I get high fever also. The same thing happened on 22nd march.I started with crocin 6hrly and roxid 150 twice for two days, but there was no relief, then took cephalexin 500 twice for three days along with antiallergy prescribed by my family doctor.I Have almost completed the course but I am still feeling as if the infection is still there on low level with no more fever. The family doctor says that throat wall gets infected very soon because of low immunity level. Please guide me how can I avoid throat infection recurrence and improve my immunity level?

Hi,

Noted your detailed history about having tonsillectomy when you were 7-8 years old, getting recurrent throat infection particularly on eating outside food, Doctor gave you Roxid, Cephalexin and crocin, got relief but not completely and told about low immunity, wants to know hte cause and how to increase immunity.
The first principle is to avoid the factors, foods and beverages that instigate or enhance your problems.
Have regular gargles of povidone iodine.
Have only home made foods.
Complete the courses as these conditions need weeks of proper treatment.
Consul;t an ENT Surgeon for second opinion, ENT Endoscopy, CT scan of sinuses if advised so to get the root cause of your problems which may be lying in sinusitis or so.
You have to be really care for preventive measure.Take multivitamins and mineral to increase immunity.
Properly taken medicines and care can help you permanently.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
