What Causes Rash And Burning On The Thymus Gland?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...I am 61 yrs old diag.with MG 4 yrs. ago. Went into crisis Dec. 16 2010 after minor surgery. Transported to another Hosp. for Plasma exchange. Improved only by 40% Dr. are disappointed. Upon discharge from Hosp. noticed a small red patch on front of neck. It has changed over the last few weeks from spot to bumby to oblong red line circle with bumps on it that slightly itch and burn. Now has been there for 4 weeks. I also have slight burning in my throat that comes and goes. I am on higher dose of Prednisone and taking a part in Methodrexate study program for MG. My right eye will not open at all. It has not seen the light of day since last Nov. My left eye is only 50% open and I have bad neck weakness with on and off leg and arm weakness. They are checking my sugar levels for poss. diabetic problems. My thymos was not found when they looked for it several years ago. But the place of the rash and the burning I have is right in front of where the thymos gland would be located. Is it possible to have a thymos gland or cancer problem even if they did not find it several years ago? Thanks, Sandy

Hello,

As per your query there is no chance of rash in overlying skin to be connected to thymus in anyway anatomically or psychologically. You need to undergo a CT scan chest to look into your thymus. The lesion which I haven't seen but as per your explanation seems like a heretic rash (oblong red line circle that burns and itches). And this herpetic rash is due to low immunity you are facing secondary to steroids and methotrexate.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
