What Causes Pain In The Kidney?

after visiting the doctor & going thru. all the examinations such as sonography doc. told me that i have a pain in my left kidney due to lack of water but i have no stone symtoms my urine is clear, heart beats perfect. both the luns sizes are perfect, intestine big & small ok. but why do i have the pain in my left kidney? it is poking like a needle sometimes/

As an Urologist, i can understand your anxiety.
Lack of drinking water, doesn't cause pain in one kidney only.
If your scan reports are normal,it's difficult to comment about cause of pain.
Drinking about ten to twelve glasses fluids daily,is a healthy routine.
If in doubt,send the reports to me,as a direct question,for an expert advise.
