Brief Answer:
Your mother should undergo some laboratory and imaging exams to rule out any possible cause of her symptoms.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using HCM.
Being based to her symptoms and past medical history, I would suggest your mother to do an abdominal ultrasound exam and a series of laboratory exams such as the coagulation indexes, the liver enzymes, full blood count and renal function tests. After receiving the results of the above mentioned exams, you should refer to an internist doctor, to rule out any possible cause of her symptoms.
Regarding, rectal bleeding , it may be caused by the so called "internal hemorrhoids". Increased abdominal pressure, due to enlarged belly, impairs normal blood circulation of rectal veins, causing the " internal hemorrhoids". The presence of "Internal hemorrhoids is associated with frequent rectal bleeding. For this problem, your mother should refer to the surgeon.

Hope this is helpful.
