What Causes No Visualization Of Gestational Sac On An Ultrasound?

hi doctor i am lucky my lmp is nov 11th i had 38 day cycle and i ovulated around dec 2nd or 3rd and i had blood test on dec 13th it came positive with 124hcg levels and again on dec 16th with 336 hcg levels and i went to ultrasound on dec 19th they had not seen any gestational sac please tell me is it too early to see the sac or hcg levels are not doubling i m so worried please let me know thank you so much waiting for your reply.

Hi, I have gone through your problem. The non visualisation of gestational sac in your case may be attributed to delayed conception due to prolonged cycle period (38 days). In women with 28 days cycle, the gestational sac is visible when they are around 1 week overdue (at around 5 weeks of pregnancy).So, in your case it may take a little more time. You don't worry about your hcg levels, it is more than double in 48 hours, which is indicative of a viable pregnancy. I would suggest you to get a repeat ultrasound in next week to confirm intrauterine pregnancy.
